The easiest way to image polished objects is with soft, diffuse light. With a bit of added highlighting, shiny objects can look pretty good. However, that lighting can have drawbacks, so I tend to avoid it. This image uses a mixture of diffuse and (mostly) direct reflections. Whether that succeeds or not is a matter of taste, but it is an interesting creative exercise.
