Benchmade's gold class is composed of tricked out versions of their standard knives. Though the materials may be different (e.g. Damasteel, carbon fiber), I have seen no evidence of a difference in quality as compared to the standard versions. The knife carries well and deploys smoothly. The wood is .... questionable.
